The only way I could determine its file type is to read file content. I’ve found this <a href="http://mark0.net/soft-tridnet-e.html" target="_blank">tool</a> called TrIDNet. It’s a portable application which relies on file definitions (something like virus definition for anti-virus software) in XML format.
